2 2lips

I know, I'm crazy, but I actually got the urge to paint. So while Luke slept I worked. I did the pink tulip a few weeks ago and liked it so much I wanted to do it in another color. So yesterday I finished the one in red.

Today Lily and I got our hair cut. That's like losing 5 pounds for me. I figured I needed a little pick me up. Then we had to go to Walmart for diapers and junk. Walmart sucks the life out of me on a normal day. Needless to say I'm exhausted. I refuse to do anything else productive today. I think I'll finish a movie.

Thank you for all the sweet comments last post. Isn't it neat to have friends all over the world.

Big News!!!

It worked!!! There were moments when I wondered if aliens had invaded my body, but that's no alien. He's a real, bonafide baby and he's MINE! He was born April 15th, 6lb 5oz. Luke Alexander Gunn. So now the sleepless nights and the diaper changes begin. But as my Lily loves to say, he's worth it.

Today will be my first day on my own. Dave's had the week off. We're out of milk, so grocery shopping can't be ignored. I'll just keep it to the bare bones. I've got friends bringing meals over almost every night this week. Next week my sister Evie comes, followed by my sister Maureen. Then I'm hoping for visits from my mom and Dave's parents. What fun!

Color Addict

This was just plain fun to paint. I love how the colors bleed into each other. I'm a sucker for bright colors. Growing up my mom painted our house in ultra bright colors. Standing in one hallway you could see bright orange, lemon yellow, turquoise, magenta, and chartreuse. And she had huge canvases she had painted in college all over the house. Color, color color. She made me an addict.

Flowers really feed this addiction for me. I'm amazed at the variety in color combinations. I love to examine how the colors change on a single petal. I suppose God could have made everything one color. But he didn't. And if he took all that time to make the world so interesting, I think there must be something valuable in creating beautiful things. Ah, but I'm waxing philosophical again.

Gunn Fun

We finally got out on saturday for a little adventure, or as we say "Gunn Fun." (That sounds especially good when yelled out in public by our 6 year old.) Dave's been working a lot of Saturadays so this weekend was a real treat. And look at these beautiful pictures he took at our botanical gardens. Boy oh boy do these photos make me want to paint.
